The Vice President John Dramani Mahama has said that the government will be seeking support from Denmark for the implementation of the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority.
He said the support of Denmark and other development partners would be required in effectively implementing the Savanna Development Programme, which the government is pursuing for a significant development in the three northern regions.
Speaking with the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Stig Barlyng during a courtesy call on him at the Castle, Osu, Vice President Mahama said, "we will be collaborating with your country to see how we can carry the programme through."
The establishment of the Savanna Development Authority was one of the initiatives proposed by the NDC manifesto to spearhead the development of the north.
He aprised the Ambassador of the economic challenges facing the country which included the stabilisation of the micro-economy and improving the general welfare of the citizenry and said these needed urgent attention.
He was however, hopeful that through the bilateral cooperation with the country’s development partners, the challenges would be sufficiently met.
Mr. Barlyng pledged Denmark’s collaborative support to Ghana and said Denmark was prepared to continue to partner the country in the development of the various sectors of the economy.
